2000 asleep

Actually, I registered to try and solve a problem with my 4 year old Model 2000. Retrieved it from its storage drawer for the hurricane season (live on the Atlantic Ocean beach) and the display is blank. Replaced the battery, nothing, one more time, nothing. All functions had worked well before I stored it after last hurricane season, but now it seems dead. Is there a work around to get it functional again. Thanks.
